Sangoma, a leading manufacturer of IP Telephony hardware and software products announced today three new prominent customers in the world of Asterisk and Open Source Telephony. Wildix, Signate, and Core Telecom Innovations have all standardized on Sangoma PCI and PCI-Express hardware for their PSTN access. Sangoma, who despite having been in business for over 20 years, has been playing second fiddle to the folks at Digium in the IP Telephony PCI hadware market. The IP Telephony PCI hardware market has been red hot lately, stoked by the emergence of Asterisk as a viable small medium business and entreprise IP PBX solution.
The Asterisk community, and the companies that have emerged from it, have to date been extremely loyal to Digium and the hardware the company manufacturers. But with many of the recent advancements in Sangoma’s hardware and much of the chatter that is going around the Asterisk and Open Source community, it seems that these companies may just be the first of many to make the switch to Sangoma PCI and PCI-Express hardware.
